How to stay safe on Bin Weevils

  1. Don’t give out personal details, or any other information that could be used to identify you, such as:
    • Your full name
    • Your age
    • Information about your family,
    • Where you live,
    • Your phone number
    • Your e-mail address
    • Your Instant messaging details (such as MSN messenger)
    • The school you go to
    • The sports team your in
    • Your favourite hang out etc etc
  2. Don’t use your real name or age as your Bin Weevil name
  3. By doing this people you don’t know will be able to find out more about you than you may think. In any case there are far more fun and imaginative usernames such as: SmellySprouts
  4. Never give out your password to anyone
  5. Always keep your password safe! If someone is asking you for your password, never tell them and report this person to the Bin Weevils moderators
  6. Never meet up with anyone who you have only met online
  7. If someone asks you to meet up with them, no matter how long you have been friends with them online, discuss this through with a parent, guardian or teacher. If you do end up meeting them face to face ensure you bring a parent or close adult with you.
  8. If you feel unsafe or uncomfortable tell an adult or the Bin Weevils moderators
  9. If someone says things to you that you don't like or makes you feel uncomfortable, tell a parent, teacher or close adult. They can help you deal/report the problem. Remember the Bin Weevil moderators are there to help you and ensure your safety on this site. Get in contact with them if there is anything you are unsure about. Your actions may end up helping a lot of other people too.
